A new memorial honoring Susan Cox Powell and her two young children was installed Monday in Washington State.

Charlie and Braden Powell died in a house explosion at the hands of their father, Josh Powell, in an apparent murder suicide last February.

Susan's family is still feeling the loss and each year they hold a vigil on December 6, the day Susan disappeared in 2009.

The public is invited to gather at the memorial, which is made of granite and is topped with an angel at Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup, Wash.

The memorial is inspired by a book about a woman who survived the death of her husband and daughter on December 6, 1994.

Chuck Cox, Susan's father, said the memorial will also include the names of other missing people and young crime victims.

"I feel guilty often because Charlie and Braden and even my daughter, there are a lot more people missing than my little girl," Cox said.

The project was paid for by donation amounting to $50,000. The statue is near the boys' graveside.
