"This is a time of great challenges for America, and I pray that the President will be successful in guiding our nation," said Romney.

Romney also thanked his running mate, Paul Ryan.

"Besides my wife Ann, Paul was the best choice I've ever made," said Romney. "And I trust that his intellect and his hard work and his commitment to principle will continue to contribute to the good of the nation."

Romney gave his thanks to all those who helped his campaign.

"I don't believe there has ever been an effort in our party that can compare with what you've done over these past years," Romney said. "Thank you so very much."
