COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah - Police in Cottonwood Heights have released surveillance video hoping the public can help identify the suspect they describe as a serial burglar.

The surveillance footage shows the white adult male suspect trying to buy gift cards with a stolen credit card at a Smith's grocery store in South Jordan. It then shows him leaving in a black Dodge Charger.

Cottonwood Heights police say the credit card was stolen during a business burglary on Oct. 31, where the suspect also took laptops and computer equipment.

"He pried a door open on the one business and an employee found it when he arrived for work the following morning. Once he was inside that business he pried a common door open that led to another business," said Cottonwood Heights Police Sgt. Mark Askerlund.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the incidents is asked to contact police at 801-840-4000 and reference the Cottonwood Heights business burglaries.
