PROVO – Bronco Mendenhall and the BYU Cougars will need to be ready for primetime this fall. The school and ESPN announced Wednesday that four of their first six games will be nighttime kickoffs on national television.
The Cougars’ opener against Washington State has moved up to an 8:15 p.m. kickoff on Thursday, Aug. 30, for an ESPN telecast.
Three weeks later, BYU’s game at Boise State will also be a Thursday night ESPN showcase at 7 p.m., then it’s back to Friday night home games Sept. 28 versus Hawaii and Oct. 5 against Utah State.
The only Saturday contests in the first half of the season will be in September when the Cougars host Weber State and visit Utah.
All the start times and television broadcast information for the second half of the season are to be determined, except for the visit to Notre Dame on Oct. 20, which will kick off at 1:30 on NBC.
