ShakeOut: Essentials in survival kits

The purpose of the Great Utah ShakeOut is to make sure you are ready if a big earthquake hits the Wasatch Front.

Steve Sautter, with Salt Lake County Emergency Management, reviews some of the essential items you should include in a survival kit.

Survival Kit essentials:
- First aid kit
- One gallon of water per person, per day
- Food, including granola bars, candy
- Battery-powered radio
- Flashlight
- Games, like cards
- Batteries for the flashlight
- Personal kits including soap, linens and toilet paper

The Great Utah ShakeOut drill is scheduled to take place on April 17 beginning at 10:15 a.m.
