Winter storm brings snow to Utah this weekend

Posted
and last updated

A winter storm is sliding into Utah Friday and it'll bring healthy amounts of snow to our mountains.

Ahead of that storm, it's mild and mostly cloudy. We're climbing into the mid 40s along the Wasatch Front.

Rain showers begin in southern Utah and extend into northern Utah this afternoon. It'll start as mountain snow and a mix of rain and snow in the valleys. As temperatures drop overnight, that'll change over to snow.

Snow will be widespread Friday night, so be prepared for winter driving conditions. You can expect moderate to heavy mountain road snow. There could also be some snow accumulating on valley roads Saturday morning.

Snow showers are on and off Saturday, lingering into your early Sunday morning.
