Mild start to the week; Getting hot later on

SALT LAKE CITY — After a few morning clouds and sprinkles, it'll become sunny along the Wasatch Front today.

A weak weather system will bring a chance of isolated high-based showers and thunderstorms to Eastern Utah this afternoon and evening. Since it's so dry at the surface, gusty winds will be more likely than much, if any, rain reaching the ground.

High pressure building over the area will bring a big warm-up later this week. It's going to get hot by this weekend with temperatures climbing higher than they have so far this year.
