SALT LAKE CITY — During a brutal heat wave Tuesday, Salt Lake City tied a record for the highest temperature ever recorded in the city.
Ever.
All-time.
At 5:43 p.m., the National Weather Service office in Salt Lake City reported the temperature hit 107 degrees, tying the all-time high for the city set in July 1960 and July 2002.
Records came and went throughout the day, with the city first tying the record high for the month of June at 105 degrees at around 3:45 p.m. Less than 30 minutes later, the thermometer hit 106 degrees, setting the new all-time June temperature.
