SALT LAKE CITY — Northern Utah will experience more winter-like conditions later this week as a double dose of snow is expected to hit the area.

Temperatures will drop dramatically Wednesday afternoon with an 80% chance of snow in the Salt Lake City area. The forecast calls for a possible snow accumulation of 1-2 inches.
The chances of snow diminish Wednesday evening, although the temperatures will hover around 28 degrees.

Mountain areas will see considerably more snow, with Alta forecast to receive up to a foot of snow Wednesday into Thursday.
FOX 13's 7-Day forecast for all of Utah
After a day off Thursday, snow is back in the forecast for Friday with the National Weather Service calling for a 40% chance and an accumulation of less than one inch.
Temperatures will rise over the weekend with highs near 45 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.
