SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah has agreed to an independent investigation of the University's Police Department's handling of allegations against a former officer.
The decision to go ahead with the probe came after University of Utah Police Chief Rodney Chatman met Tuesday morning with officials from the Utah Department of Public Safety, according to Chris Nelson, Communications Director at the U.
The allegationsregard the former officer keeping and sharing photos of Lauren McCluskey who went to police saying someone was extorting her with the explicit photos.
This was before McCluskey was murdered by her former boyfriend.
This is a developing story and will be updated as new details become available.
