LAYTON, Utah — A fire burning just off Interstate 15 in Layton forced officials to close an on-ramp to the highway.
The southbound on-ramp to I-15 from Layton Parkway was closed to all traffic as flames inched close to the road.
Because of the fire coming close to transmission and substation equipment, Rocky Mountain Power was forced to shut down a power line, dropping power to over 11,000 customers. The City of Farmington later reported that power had been restored just after 4 p.m.
