Mason Jar Ice Cream recipe

There's nothing better on a hot summer day than cooling off with ice cream.

And, there's nothing better than homemade ice cream.

Chef Jeff Jackson from Smith's Food & Drug joined us with an easy recipe you can make at home.

Mason Jar Ice Cream

1 c. heavy cream
1 ½ tbsp. sugar
1 ½ tsp. vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
16 oz. mason jar with a tight fitting lid
For Chocolate:
Add 1 tbsp. chocolate syrup to the above recipe
For Strawberry:
Add 1 tbsp. strawberry syrup to the above recipe
Other tips:
Add berries, nuts, chocolate chips or any other favorite ingredient

Directions
1. Pour the cream, sugar, vanilla, and salt into the jar. Tightly secure the lid.
2. Shake vigorously for about 5 minutes or until the mixture thickens and resembles the consistency of brownie batter.
3. Place in the freezer for at least 3 hours. Enjoy.
