Smith's Chef Jeff joined us with a recipe that's oh so sweet!

Dr. Pepper Steak Sandwiches
Ingredients
1-2 lb. flank steak
2 c. Dr. Pepper
¼ c. soy sauce
¼ c. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. garlic, minced
½ tsp. pepper
4-6 slices provolone cheese
4-6 sandwich rolls
Directions
1. Slice the steak, against the grain into bitesize strips. Make the marinade by mixing the soda, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and pepper in a bowl. Put the steak in a large zipper bag along with the marinade and let it marinate for at least 4 hours or better overnight.
2. Heat a large saute pan over medium-high heat and add 1-2 tbsp. of oil. Remove the steak from the marinade, reserving the marinade, and place it in the pan to brown 2 minutes per side. Do it in batches as not to over crowd the pan. Remove the browned meat from the pan and set aside.
3. Add the leftover marinade to the pan and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer until it reduces to a slightly thickened syrup, 8-10 minutes. Add the steak back to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce and cook a little longer depending on how well cooked you like your steak.
4. Serve the meat on a roll with some provolone or other favorite cheese. Drizzle a little more pan sauce on top and enjoy!
