'Take note' of Jazz vibe during Game 3 of the NBA Playoffs

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz have their first home game of the 2022 NBA Playoffs Thursday night as they face the Dallas Mavericks in Game 3 of their series, currently tied 1-1.

FOX 13 News has the game covered from all angles and will be sharing the action inside and outside Vivint Arena:

9:48 p.m. - By the time the final buzzer sounds, there are more empty seats than occupied. The sea of red, orange and yellow is no more. Mavericks win 126-118.

9:40 p.m. - As the game clock hits 1:25 with the score at 119-109, fans start to file out in an effort to beat the traffic. A few scattered "boo"s are heard as Dallas gets another two points with an easy fast-break dunk with hardly a defender in sight.

9:36 p.m. - Pleas from the announcers and on-court spirit squad to "GET LOUD!" bring a bit of noise to the arena, but not much after Dallas had just pulled a bit more ahead at 111-104 with three minutes left in the game.

9:26 p.m. - A Mike Conley 3-pointer makes it a one-point game! But a quick pair of back-to-back buckets from Dallas brings it to 107-102 with just under 6 minutes left.

9:20 p.m. - A couple of misses on the Mavericks' end and some makes by the Jazz, Utah pulls within four points — 101-97.

9:14 p.m. - Fourth quarter starts with the score at 97-91 for the Mavs.

9:10 p.m. - A solid run late in the third quarter brings Utah within 6 points of Dallas — punctuated by back-to-back dunks by Donovan Mitchell and Jordan Clarkson, bringing nearly every fan to their feet with deafening roars from the crowd.

9:05 p.m. - Despite the Mavs leading by double-digits for nearly the entire third quarter, Jazz fans didn't let up — exploding with applause and cheering after every basket.

8:20 p.m. - Dallas leads 68-51 at halftime.

8:06 p.m. - The crowd absolutely EXPLODES after a Rudy Gobert dunk. Mavs lead 54-43 with just under 3 minutes left in the half.

8:04 p.m. - Chants of "Ref, you suck!" break out after apparently one too many fouls called against the home team

7:55 p.m. - Vivint Arena fills with "BOO"s every time the refs call a foul on the Jazz

7:40 p.m. - Jordan Clarkson nails a buzzer-beater three-pointer from near full court, but Utah ends the first quarter down 20-27.

7:30 p.m. - Utah has the lead for the first few minutes of the first quarter, but Dallas pulls ahead and stays ahead, or tied, the rest of the first quarter.

7:15 p.m. - The crowd goes wild for every Jazz basket — living up to the playoffs motto of "EMBRACE THE NOISE!"

7:05 p.m. - Jazz win the tip-off and score the first points:

6:45 p.m. - Players take the court to start warming up!

6:30 p.m. - Every fan in attendance gets a "Take Note" t-shirt in red, yellow or orange to cover the arena in Utah's colors.

6:00 p.m. - The Jazz Dancers are here getting everyone pumped up!

5:45 p.m. - Jazz fans (and a handful of Mavs fans too) have to get their pics taken with the gold “J” note!

5:00 p.m. - FOX 13's Kelly Chapman is outside Vivint Arena where eager Utah Jazz fans are already starting to arrive for game three of the playoffs.

4:45 p.m. - Fans are starting to show up for the pre-game festivities! The party starts at 5, with music, the Jazz Dancers and the Jazz Bear expected to be here.
