SALT LAKE CITY — BYU offensive tackle Brady Christensen was named to the Associated Press All-American first team Monday. Cougars kicker Jake Oldroyd received third-team honors.
With the selection, Christensen becomes BYUs first AP first team pick since Luke Staley in 2001.

The junior earned a 96.4 grade from Pro Football Focus during the recent season in which the Cougars finished 11-1. Christensen's grade would be the best ever by a collegiate offensive lineman.
Oldroyd is BYUs first kicker to be named to an AP All-American team since Matt Payne accomplished the feat in 2004.
Oldroyd went 13-for-13 on field goal attempts this season, and converted 60 of 62 extra points.
Quarterback Zac Wilson failed to make any of the teams, finishing behind Alabama's Mac Jones, Florida's Kyle Trask and Trevor Lawrence of Clemson.
