He not only has a passion for climbing but also for helping the teachers and children in the Mount Everest region of Nepal. The Apa Sherpa Foundation is holding a Utah fundraiser on Friday, March 7th at Westgate in Park City with hopes to raise $10,000 which will go to increase Nepalese teacher salaries and provide hot lunch for students in Nepal.

Another world record holder, Garrett McNamara, will be speaking at the fundraiser in Park City. McNamara is a professional big wave surfer and discovered the world's largest wave and was the first to surf it.
