SALT LAKE CITY — As part of Fox 13's stationwide The Rebound initiative, we have a weekly segment called, "Work for us Wednesday."
Every week, we add on to the list of job openings provided by the Utah Department of Workforce Services.
This week, you’ll see openings for housekeepers.
Intermountain Healthcare, Westgate Resorts, Marriott and Pinewood Resort are all looking for housekeepers.
Commercial drivers are needed at Republic Services, Staker Parson, L and S Transport and Schneider Trucking.
There's still demand for registered nurses, retail associates, and software developers at various companies.
The Home Depot is also hiring 350 people in the Salt Lake City area.
There are both full and part time positions available in both stores and distribution centers.
And right now, the company is offering some incentives.
"We’ve actually added benefits during this time, such as a bonus program," Home Depot spokesman Dave White said. "So right now, associates who work part-time get an extra $50 every week and associates who are full-time will get an additional $100 on top of their regular pay every week. And then overtime hours have been enhanced as well – overtime pay – now that is double time. So we’re truly trying to take care of our associates.”
The Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities has a handful of watershed team member openings.
Watershed Operations Supervisor, John Wells, is looking for fit people to help maintain trails among other things, and will start interviewing Wednesday.
“It’s very demanding physical work, you’re hiking up and down mountains, sometimes carrying a 40-pound backpack, you’re hiking up to these remote reservoirs that are not easy to get to," Wells said. "But we have to take all of our tools with us, some of them are in wilderness areas so we can’t use power tools we have to use hand tools. It’s very physical, demanding work and very rewarding work obviously.”
