SALT LAKE CITY — It’s “Work for us Wednesday.”

Each week, FOX 13 highlights new job opportunities across the state to help Utahns get back to work and make ends meet.

If you’d like a job at Salt Lake City International Airport, now’s your chance.

With the airport expanding - and cleaning needs higher than usual due to the pandemic - Flagship Airport Services is looking to fill nearly 100 custodian positions.

Construction crews are expected to finish the first phase of construction -- including a new parking garage, a central terminal, and the west end of Concourse 'A' -- by September 15.

That`s when Flagship wants all its new cleaners hired and ready to hit the ground running.

Custodian positions start at $13 an hour, and there are morning, swing and night shifts available.

Experience is a plus but not necessary, because Flagship will teach you everything you need to know.

“We just do want them trained before the new airport opens, and of course we`ll keep them and have them long term,” said Laura Weaver, a recruiter with Flagship Inc. “We tend to promote from the inside so there`s definitely room to move up and learn more.”

On Thursday, the Utah Department of Workforce Services will hold its third statewide virtual job fair.

Organizers say more than 90 employers will be online, ready to chat live, schedule interviews and even make job offers on the spot.

That’s Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and it is free.

You just have to register here.

There’s a workshop Wednesday to help you prepare.

FOX 13 wants to help Utahns get back to work, make ends meet and manage the pressure of the coronavirus crisis through personal stories and practical information.
