CEDAR CITY, Utah — Southern Utah University is offering free online classes with an overview of the tools needed to successfully work remotely.

On Tuesday, Stephen Lisonbee, the Director of Regional Operations for SUU, joined Tamara Vaifanua on Good Day Utah to explain the series.

“Working remotely can be very stressful," Lisonbee said. "And if you have the ability to understand the tools to work with your employer, with your team, even what we’re doing right now with Zoom is unfamiliar for some people.”

It's part of Fox 13's "The Rebound" series aimed at helping Utahns deal with and recover from the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

The classes are a combined effort of SUU's Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business and Utah Rural Summit.

In six lunchtime sessions, participants will receive tools, training and opportunities to interact with Utah business leaders collaborating to support success for working remotely.

“We’ve developed a wide range of community involvement activities and the most recent that we’re launching is our remote work tools to help support our local businesses and workforce and be comfortable working remotely with their teams.”

Course instructors include COO Tenia Wallace of Decorworx, CEO David Mineer ofConstruction Monitor, VP of Client Development Melissa Garland of Atlas RTX, PrincipalArchitect Lindison Web of Ticketmaster and Senior Director David Lisonbee of Nice, Inc.

The classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning May 1, which will be an orientation meeting.

You're encouraged to register for the limited series. Information can be found at SUU's website or its Community Connect Facebook page.
