SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake Chamber unveiled a new tool to track Utah's path to a full recovery from the recession brought on by COVID-19.
The Roadmap to Recovery Dashboard will be updated monthly with essential insights for on employment, income and consumer spending.
One of the methods for tracking Utah's economic recovery is identifying the industries that have suffered the most since the beginning of the pandemic.
"In the early days of the pandemic, in March and April, we saw programs from the government that designed as sort of throw a lifeline to everyone. But now we're smarter than we were back then and so we know some of those relief efforts can be more targeted. It gives us, as a business community, an opportunity to advocate at a local state and even a federal level for those kinds for programs that'll help those businesses that are hurting the most," said Derek Miller, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber and Downtown Alliance.
The Chamber hopes the dashboard will help to empower the private sector to create more jobs and add opportunities for families across the state.
