WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — UPS is making a big push to hire 2,200 seasonal workers across their 13 facilities from Logan to St. George.
With a surge in online shopping, UPS is ramping hiring to handle the extra workload this holiday season.
“A lot of people to make sure that we take care of everybody’s holidays,” said Kolten Smith, UPS Area HR Rep.
UPS is hiring for:
- Drivers – starting pay $21 an hour
- Driver helpers
- Package handlers – starting pay $14.50 an hour
- Pre-loaders
- Management
- Customer Service
“You have a variety of different positions and shifts starting from our early a.m. shift from 3:30 AM goes to 9 AM. All the way to midnight,” said Smith.
There are full-time, part-time and seasonal openings.
Managers say they offer a supportive culture, with training.
“I started as a package handler with UPS and I’m going on my 10th year with a company so somebody is potentially looking for something long-term,” said Smith.
Smith says they’re committed to helping employees grow.
“Our permanent package handler positions which we are hiring for right now there’s full medical vision and dental and prescription. As well as the tuition," Smith said. “I would love to see more applications come through and bring people on with us,” said Smith.
