The economy is continually rated as one of the top issues Americans are concerned about ahead of the 2024 election.
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is speaking at the Sedona Forum in Sedona, Arizona, Friday to discuss the role of democracy in the economy.
"I'm going to talk about why it's important for our economy to work," Yellen told Scripps News in an exclusive interview.
Acknowledging higher grocery prices and housing costs, Yellen noted that inflation is cooling.
"Inflation has come down by two-thirds off peak, and its progress can't be expected to be absolutely a straight line, but I think the conditions are in place for it to come down to 2%," Yellen said.
