Searching for 'Flo,' Ogden’s most famous ghost

OGDEN, Utah — Among the many headstones in the Ogden City Cemetery is one for a girl who died at just 15 years of age in 1918.

Her headstone reads Florence Louise Grange, but many visitors to the cemetery these days simply call her “Flo.”

An urban legend is linked to “Flo”, and while there are variations, most stories embrace the idea that Flo’s spirit can be enticed from the grave with blinking car headlights.

The notion that Flo was hit by a car while waiting for her boyfriend to pick her up for a dance is also a common idea among those who’ve heard the stories.

But did that really happen, and who exactly was Florence Louise Grange?

We talked with author, researcher, blogger and podcaster Jennifer Jones who helped sort fact and fiction. CLICK HERE to see more of Jones' research.
