SALT LAKE CITY — Not only is U.S. House hopeful Blake Moore battling his Democratic opponent ahead of the upcoming election, but he has been taking on COVID-19 as well.

Moore reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus earlier this month and has been holed away ever since at his home in Salt Lake City.

Moore and Democrat Darren Parry are hoping to win Utah’s 1st District seat currently held by longtime congressman Rob Bishop who decided not to run for reelection. The district covers multiple counties in northern Utah, including all of Weber County.

With Election Day coming up on Nov. 3, Moore expects to end his quarantine Friday and get back to campaigning in-person this weekend.

The Standard-Examiner reports Moore’s wife, Jane, first contracted COVID-19 before he and his three children all tested positive.
