WASHINGTON — Dollar Tree has recalled over 142,000 candles its stores sell exclusively due to fire hazard concerns.

The U.S. Consumer Protection Safety Commission says the high flames on the Sure Scents 2-1 Peaceful Stream/Moonlit Waves Candles can "ignite the surface of the wax or cause the glass to break."

Customers were able to buy the candles at Dollar Tree between July 2020 through September 2020.

The company that produces the candles for Dollar Tree says it has received reports of the flame reaching above the glass, causing the glass to break.

Anyone in possession of the candles should stop using them and contact their local store for a full refund.
