WASHINGTON — Most Americans will one day soon to find the latest stimulus checks have been automatically deposited into their accounts.

However, there's a large population of the country that will not receive $600 and will have to claim it on their tax returns instead.

Those who use the Get My Payment tool on the IRS website and see a "PAYMENT #2 STATUS - NOT AVAILABLE" message will need to claim the money on the Recovery Rebate Credit section of their 2020 tax return.

Only those eligible Americans who do not make over $87,000 a year or are claimed as a dependent will have the stimulus checks automatically placed into bank accounts.
