MURRAY, Utah — A woman accused of committing aggravated assault in Murray told police she was angry and "wanted to feel powerful," according to a court document.

Police arrested 30-year-old Estelle Veronica Cherry early Thursday morning after receiving a report of domestic violence near 400 E Afton Ave.

The document states Cherry was involved in an argument with another person and she admitted to attempting to strangle him.

"The victim said that he never experience a loss of consciousness or an obstructed breathing," a Murray officer wrote in a probable cause statement.

Cherry faces a felony charge of aggravated assault and a misdemeanor charge of commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child.
