OGDEN, Utah — Investigators in Weber County are looking into a suspicious death after the discovery of a woman's body Tuesday evening.
According to a news release from the Weber County Sheriff's Office, a 9-1-1 call placed Tuesday evening led them to the area of 400 Ogden Canyon.
"Investigators from Weber County Sheriff’s Office, the Weber County Attorney’s Office and Weber-Metro CSI responded to the scene. The death is being treated as a suspicious death at this time," the news release said.
Lt. Cortney Ryan of the Weber County Sheriff's Office said the woman's body was found near the river. The woman's name was not released Wednesday, but Ryan said investigators have been working with her family and following up on leads.
There is not believed to be a threat to the public.
Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area of 400 Ogden Canyon between early Sunday morning and 5 p.m. Tuesday is urged to call the Weber County Sheriff's Office Investigation Unit at 801-778-6631.
