SALT LAKE CITY — While Utah is the envy of the country when it comes to employment during the pandemic, that doesn’t tell the whole story.
A swath of counties stretching from the Wasatch back counties through the Uintah Basin, down to the four corners and back west in Garfield County are all feeling a much tougher pinch from the pandemic.
The counties rely largely on two industries: Leisure, and Oil and Gas drilling.
