In a brief court appearance Thursday morning, Lori Vallow Daybell pleaded not guilty to two felony charges of conspiracy to destroy, alter or conceal evidence.

Vallow Daybell's charges are related to the disappearance and deaths of her two children, Joshua "JJ" Vallow and Tylee Ryan, whose bodies were discovered on her husband Chad Daybell's property on June 9.

Each charge is punishable with up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Judge Dane Watkins confirmed that Vallow Daybell's jury trial is set to begin on April 2 at 10 a.m.

A pretrial conference is scheduled for March 22.

Last month, Vallow Daybell waived her right to a preliminary hearing, prompting speculation that a plea deal may be under discussion.

On September 2, the State of Idaho moved to join Vallow Daybell's and Chad Daybell's cases "in order to preserve judicial economy and efficiency, avoid delays in bringing either Defendant to trial, and for the benefit of the witnesses and victims."

JJ and Tylee were last seen alive in September of 2019.
