The Southwest Utah Public Health Department has reported the second COVID-19 related death in Utah Friday afternoon.
The patient passed away Thursday in a Salt Lake area hospital and is described as a woman under the age of 60 with underlying health issues.
The woman had tested positive for COVID-19 and health officials are in contact with individuals who may have been exposed to the virus and are asking them to quarantine or isolate while monitoring for symptoms.
The first COVID-19 related death in Utah was a Davis County man over the age of 60.
At the latest update from coronavirus.utah.gov, there are 480 cases of coronavirus in the state of Utah and 9,244 people have been tested.
