SALT LAKE CITY — The Unified Police Department has issued an alert for a missing hiker last seen in October at the Neff's Canyon trailhead.
James Long, 47, is considered an experienced outdoorsman and may have sought shelter from the weather while he was in the canyon to view fossil beds on Oct. 18.
Long is 5' 2" with brown hair and hazel eyes, and was wearing a heavy read and yellow jacket when he was last seen.
