Two drivers in critical condition after head-on collision near Deer Creek Reservoir

WASATCH COUNTY — Two drivers are in critical condition after a head-on crash near Deer Creek State Park.

According to Utah Highway Patrol, a Toyota Corolla was southbound on US-189 Tuesday at about 12:40 p.m. when it crossed over the center turn lane. The car drove into the northbound lanes of the highway and collided with an oncoming Ford F-250.

According to Sgt. Nick Street with the Utah Highway Patrol, both drivers are in critical condition and no other occupants were in the vehicles.

The driver of the Toyota was extricated from the vehicle by fire personnel, and the pickup driver was partially ejected. Both were transported to hospitals by medical helicopter.

Both vehicles were badly damaged and the road was closed for cleanup and investigation processes.
