Stolen trailer with body inside found in Kearns

***UPDATE: Police say the trailer has been found in a church parking lot in Kearns with the contents still present and intact. However, they are still looking for and seeking tips on the suspect, as well as the vehicle used to steal the trailer (pictured above).

WEST JORDAN, Utah — Police in West Jordan are asking for the public's help to find a stolen trailer that was carrying a deceased body to its final resting place.

The 4'x8' U-Haul trailer, with Wisconsin license plate 968 5ZA, was stolen from a hotel parking lot around 5:30 a.m. Friday, according to a Facebook post from West Jordan City.

Police say it contains a body that was being transported by the deceased person's family to Utah for burial. It was not specified exactly where it was en route to or from.

"We believe the trailer has likely been opened and abandoned. Please help us reunite the family with their loved one," the post read.
