SALT LAKE CITY — An assault suspect is in police custody after a standoff with police and a SWAT team in Salt Lake City Friday morning.
According to SLCPD, the aggravated assault occurred around 2:15 a.m. Police said the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and there was a weapon involved.
After the assault, the suspect then entered an RV in the neighborhood of 400 N Pamela Way.
"Our SWAT team, negotiators and social workers are in scene. There is no threat to the public. Please avoid the area," a tweet from SLCPD said.
Police have not released the suspect's name.
