TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — Three people were taken into custody Monday after a standoff with police in Taylorsville Monday morning.

Around 8:30 a.m. officers with the Unified Police Department located and arrested a person person they were looking for at the Hometown Studios located at 5680 South Redwood Road.

Officers quickly realized there were other people in the room and that they might be armed.

They refused to come out and barricaded the door, so a UPD SWAT team was called in.

Officers eventually got a search warrant and forced entry into the room.

"We found out who one of the persons is and she is wanted for quite a few charges," UPD Detective Ken Hansen said. "She's one of those people that may defraud you in different ways so it was important to get her off the street."

Hansen said that whenever there are reports of or suspicion about weapons being in a room they take no chances with the safety of officers or the public which is why the swat team was called.

The female who is a parole fugitive is likely heading back to prison and will likely face some new charges.

The other two are headed to jail.
