SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — An anonymous couple gave $6,000 to the Summit County Sheriff's Office to distribute to all of its employees just ahead of Christmas.

"We are absolutely humbled by the generosity of 'Mr and Mrs Anonymous'," a Facebook post from the Sheriff's Office said.

The donation included a letter that, in part, said: "Enclosed is a small token of our appreciation. We simply wanted you to know that we appreciate the hard work and dedication that both you and your families put into making sure our world stays safe and prosperous. You are deeply appreciated - please stay safe, Mr and Mrs Anonymous."

Sheriff Justin Martinez thanked the anonymous couple for the generous donation and the employees of Sheriff's Office for their "integrity, professionalism and dedication to serving this community with compassion and empathy."
