KANAB, Utah — The Kane County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to be on the lookout for a man who was last seen near Kanab.
In a post to Facebook, the agency says deputies stopped his vehicle on US 89 over 15 miles east of Kanab. After getting his documents, the man fled north across the fence, then west parallel to the highway.
The Kane County Tactical Team tracked him for about 7 hours over nearly 12 mile, losing sight of him near Johnson Canyon Road. They're encouraging residents in the area to keep their homes and cars locked.
