SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah — The South Salt Lake Police Department is honoring one of its fallen officers Tuesday on the second anniversary of his death.
Officer David Romrell was killed in the line of duty on November 24, 2018.

He was responding to a burglary, when one of the two suspects hit him with his car trying to get away.
The driver was killed, and passenger Jeffrey Black, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and burglary and will spend up to 30 years behind bars.

Romrell was 31 years old.
He’s remembered as being very humble and exemplary in every way.
Romrell served as a Marine, and left behind a wife and baby, who is now almost two-and-a-half years old.

The South Salt Lake Police Honor Guard will hold a virtual flag ceremony at 8 a.m.
