SALT LAKE CITY — Move over Miami. Not this year New York. Later Los Angeles.

When it comes to the best singles scenes in the U.S., Salt Lake City ranks near the top, leaving those other social metropolises in the dust.

WalletHub ranked the Best & Worst Cities for Singles and the capital of the Beehive State slid in at Number 4. Only Madison, Wisconsin, Atlanta and Denver ranked higher than Salt Lake City.

Of course, not all is perfect in SLC if you're single and ready to mingle. While the city is ranked 5th when it comes to "Fun and Recreation," it's a lowly 65th in the "Dating Opportunities" column (behind such hives of hooking up as Newark, Fresno and Lubbock).

And it wasn't just Salt Lake City grabbing the spotlight in Utah; West Valley City held up pretty well with an overall ranking of 70 out of 182 cities.

The study evaluated the cities using 32 metrics, each with corresponding weights. Some of the metrics used include Restaurant-Meal Costs, Average Beer Price, Weather and Share of Single Population.

And, oh, in case you were wondering, Miami ranked 77th, New York City finished 141st and Los Angeles was 56th.
