SANPETE COUNTY, Utah — Shots were fired at law enforcement officers Wednesday as they attempted to serve a warrant in Sanpete County.

Two Sanpete County deputies and a Fairview Police Department went to serve the warrant out of Wyoming to a male and female.

As the officers approached the location at Milburn Road and Wheeler Road, shots were fired from inside the residence. The officers did not return fire and retreated from the location.

The couple, Brett Gilman Johnson and Jamie Carol Cleghorn, ran from the house and a search is currently ongoing under the guidance of the Utah County Sheriff SWAT team.

Gilman and Cleghorn were reportedly arrested in Gillette, Wyoming after breaking into 17 storage units. The warrant was issued after the couple failed to appear on the charges.
