UTAH LAKE STATE PARK, Utah — Search crews with multiple agencies are back at Utah Lake to look for two teenage girls who left to float on the lake Wednesday afternoon.

Priscilla Bienkowski 18, and Sophia Hernandez, 17, Priscilla Bienkowski and Sophia Hernandez are believed to have been in the Knolls area, on the southwest side of the lake.

Friday's weather conditions are more favorable for the search than they were Thursday. It isn't as windy and the waters are smoother.

Sgt. Spencer Cannon of the Utah County Sheriff's Office said the teens bought tubes meant for use in swimming pools before arriving at the lake. Those types of tubes, he said, would not have been stable enough to use on Utah Lake's rough waters.

"The thing that everybody, I think, many people are thinking is what nobody wants to say. But when you've been involved in a lot of circumstances like this, it's hard to not at least think about those possibilities," Cannon said. "We hold out hope, even if it's just a slim sliver of hope."
