PARK CITY, Utah — Investigators with the Summit County Sheriff's Office are looking into the events that led to a shooting at a party in the Kimball Junction neighborhood over the weekend.
The Sheriff's Office received multiple 9-1-1 calls about the shooting at 3:24 a.m. Sunday.
"One caller reported seeing 'dozens of cars' leaving a residence on Teal Drive, a neighborhood on the northside of I-80 at Kimball Junction," a Facebook post from the Sheriff's office said.
Deputies found bullet casings at the house, which they determined is an overnight rental property.
"A short time after receiving 911 calls, three vehicles that were seen at the location of the shooting were located on U.S. 40 near Silver Summit. One vehicle was stopped by an officer and information was received that there was in fact a shooting and the victim was being transported to Park City Medical Center in a separate vehicle," the post said.
According to the Sheriff's Office, a 22-year-old Sandy woman suffered a gunshot wound in her back and she was flown to a Salt Lake City-area hospital for treatment. The woman's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The Sheriff's Office has identified three people who are believed to be connected to the shooting, but no arrests have been made.
