TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — A shelter-in-place order was issued for several hours for an area in Taylorsville after a suspect barricaded himself inside a home on Friday.

The Taylorsville Police Department was serving a warrant on the suspect in his 30s when the man refused to come out of the home near 5900 South 3840 West.

The unidentified suspect was being served a warrant for what a police spokesperson described as a violent offense.

Police were able to get another adult and a child out of the house and remain in intermittent contact with the suspect.

After several hours, the suspect was taken into custody and the order was lifted.
