SALT LAKE CITY — Westbound traffic on Interstate 80 was closed after multiple vehicle crashes in Sugarhouse.
I-80 has since reopened westbound traffic.
Officials confirm a pickup truck rear-ended a semitruck; the driver of the pickup had to be extricated from the vehicle and was later transported to the hospital as a precaution.
The highway was briefly closed for medical personnel to extricate the driver but has since reopened.
