SALT LAKE CITY — Residents in a Salt Lake City neighborhood were told to shelter in place Monday after workers hit a gas line.
The Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities says contractors hit an unmarked natural gas line in the area of 4th Avenue and Canyon Road.
Officials closed off the area to traffic and residents were ordered to stay where they were. Canyon Road was reopened around 2:45 p.m. after crews were able to shut off the gas on both sides of the line break.
