SALEM, Idaho — Investigators uncovered two sets of human remains at Chad Daybell's Salem, Idaho property Tuesday, and the grandmother of missing boy Joshua "JJ" Vallow said one set of remains belongs to JJ, according to reporters Justin Lum of FOX 10 Phoenix and Eric Grossarth of East Idaho News.
Officials in Idaho haven't officially released the identities of the two sets of human remains found on Daybell's property, but prosecutor Rob Wood said Wednesday that the remains are those of two children.
JJ and his half-sister, Tylee Ryan, were last seen in September 2019. Their mother, Lori Vallow, is in an Idaho jail, facing two counts of child desertion and other charges. Their stepfather, Chad Daybell, was arrested and booked into jail Tuesday after the discovery of human remains on his property.
Daybell faces two counts of evidence destruction, alteration or concealment. The offense dates listed in the documents are September 8 and September 22, 2019 - the dates JJ and Tylee were last seen.
