PROVO, Utah — A third person has been arrested in connection with a protest in Provo on Monday that resulted in a driver being shot.
Ogden resident Bradley Glenn Walters, 29, was arrested Wednesday on felony charges of aggravated assault and riot after police say he pointed a handgun at a vehicle whose driver was shot by another person just seconds before.
Jesse Taggart, 33, was arrested Tuesday, accused of shooting the driver of an SUV that was filmed driving through a group of protesters on Center Street in Provo. Taggart fired a shot through the passenger window that struck the driver in the arm, police said, then again shot at the vehicle from behind as it drove away.
As the vehicle was leaving the area, another person, who police say they identified as Walters, was seen in the same video pointing a gun at the vehicle but did not fire any shots.
27-year-old Samantha Darling of Ogden was also arrested Tuesday. She faces charges of obstructing justice and rioting; police say she helped Taggart avoid apprehension.
