PROVO, Utah — After hearing public input and discussing the issue, the Provo City Council voted unanimously in favor of a face covering mandate Tuesday night.

However, Mayor Michelle Kaufusi announced that she plans to veto the ordinance.

Still, the council can vote to override the veto.

The council will move the ordinance forward through the system to then be given to Kaufusi for her signature or veto. Without either, it will go into effect after 15 days.
