Rapper Post Malone appeared on an episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience" published Wednesday, and talked about why he decided to move to Utah.

"Everybody's so nice in Utah," Malone said. "I don't remember what tour it was, exactly, but there were supposed to be 5,000 people to show up and then we end up getting to the show and there's 17,000 people, so we had to move it outside of the venue, right on the Salt Flats. And I was just like, if this isn't a sign from God or, you know, the aliens, then I don't know what is. So I looked at houses on Zillow and I found one and fixed it all up. Now I've been there two years, just about."

Malone said he tried living in Los Angeles, but it was "a lot for me."

"Being in Utah, it's so peaceful, like you said, and you get to focus on the music and wake up to the mountain," Malone said.

University of Utah fans will appreciate Malone's choice of headwear: a Utes ballcap.
